Policies for the Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research


1. Scope and Focus

The Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research publishes original, peer-reviewed articles that contribute to the advancement of clinical medicine. Submissions should include:

  • Original Research: Clinical studies, case reports, and experimental research.
  • Reviews: Systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
  • Short Communications: Brief updates on ongoing research or new methodologies.
  • Editorials and Commentaries: Expert opinions on emerging trends or controversies in clinical medicine.

2. Submission Policies

2.1. Manuscript Preparation

  • Authors must adhere to the journal's formatting and style guidelines (e.g., structured abstracts, IMRAD format—Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion).
  • Manuscripts should include:
    • Title page (title, author details, affiliations, corresponding author contact).
    • Abstract (structured, maximum 250 words).
    • Keywords (3–6).
    • Main text, figures, tables, and references following journal standards.
  • All submissions must be made via the journal’s online submission system.

2.2. Authorship Criteria

The journal follows the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) guidelines for authorship:

  • Substantial contributions to the study’s conception, design, or data acquisition/analysis.
  • Drafting or revising the manuscript critically.
  • Approval of the final manuscript.
  • Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work.

Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria may be acknowledged.

2.3. Originality and Plagiarism

  • Submissions must be original work that has not been published or under consideration elsewhere.
  • All manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening via tools.
  • Plagiarism, data fabrication, and image manipulation will result in rejection or retraction.

3. Peer Review Policy

3.1. Review Process

The journal operates a double-blind peer review process:

  • Identities of authors and reviewers are kept anonymous.
  • Manuscripts are initially screened by editors for relevance, quality, and ethical compliance.
  • Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject area.

3.2. Review Criteria

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:

  • Scientific rigor and originality.
  • Methodological soundness.
  • Clarity of results and interpretations.
  • Relevance to clinical medicine and current research.

3.3. Editorial Decisions

Following review, manuscripts may receive one of the following decisions:

  • Minor Revisions
  • Major Revisions
  • Reject

Authors are notified of decisions and provided constructive feedback for revisions if applicable.


4. Ethical Policies

4.1. Ethical Approval

  • All studies involving human participants must include Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval and compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki.
  • Patient confidentiality must be maintained, and written informed consent must be obtained.
  • Animal studies must adhere to national/international guidelines for animal welfare.

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional conflicts of interest that could influence their work.

4.3. Data Transparency

Authors must:

  • Provide access to raw data upon request.
  • Include a Data Availability Statement specifying where data can be accessed.

4.4. Research Misconduct

The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy for:

  • Fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism of data.
  • Duplicate submissions.
  • Breaches of ethical standards.

Allegations of misconduct will be investigated following COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.


5. Open Access and Licensing

  • The Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research is an open-access journal, ensuring immediate and free access to published articles.
  • All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing readers to share, distribute, and adapt the work with proper citation.

6. Fees and Funding

  • Authors may be required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover publication costs. Fee waivers may be available for authors from low-income countries.
  • All funding sources related to the manuscript must be disclosed in the Funding Statement.

7. Copyright Policy

Authors retain the copyright of their work. Upon publication, the work is licensed under CC BY 4.0.


8. Appeals and Complaints

  • Authors may appeal editorial decisions by providing a detailed, evidence-based rationale.
  • Complaints regarding editorial processes will be addressed by the editorial board.

9. Post-Publication Policies

9.1. Corrections and Retractions

  • Errors that affect the integrity of the work will be corrected via errata or corrections.
  • Serious ethical breaches or invalid results will lead to article retraction in line with COPE guidelines.

9.2. Post-Publication Discussion

The journal encourages post-publication comments and corrections through letters to the editor.


10. Editorial and Reviewer Responsibilities

Editors:

  • Ensure fair, unbiased, and timely reviews.
  • Safeguard confidentiality of submissions.
  • Address ethical concerns and conflicts of interest.

Reviewers:

  • Provide objective, timely, and constructive reviews.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest and decline reviews where necessary.

11. Article Withdrawal Policy

Submitting a manuscript or withdrawing is solely the interest of an author and we respect their decision. Withdrawal of a manuscript will be permitted only for the most unavoidable reasons, as it wastes the valuable resources and tremendous amount of effort made in processing the manuscripts by the editors, reviewers and the editorial staff.

Authors are entitled to change their mind regarding submitting or withdrawing their articles and they can withdraw their article at no charge - if withdrawn within 3 days of its initial submission only. If the author(s) requests a withdrawal of manuscript any time after the peer review process or in the production stage (Early release) or after it is published online- they will be subjected to payment of 50% of the original article processing fee.
