Author Guidelines for Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research

The Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research (JCMCR) is a peer-reviewed, international open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality clinical and translational research. Our scope includes clinical trials, case reports, reviews, meta-analyses, and other studies that offer significant insights into clinical medicine and healthcare.

1. Types of Articles Accepted

We welcome a variety of article types, including:

1.1 Original Research Articles

  • Full-length studies presenting novel, original clinical or experimental research.
  • Word limit: 3,000–5,000 words (excluding references, figures, and tables).

1.2 Clinical Case Reports

  • Detailed reports on rare or unusual clinical cases with valuable learning outcomes.
  • Word limit: 1,500–2,000 words.

1.3 Reviews and Systematic Reviews

  • Comprehensive, in-depth articles summarizing existing research on a particular clinical issue.
  • Systematic reviews should follow PRISMA guidelines.
  • Word limit: 4,000–6,000 words.

1.4 Meta-Analysis

  • Quantitative analysis combining results from multiple studies to answer a specific clinical question.
  • Word limit: 3,500–5,000 words.

1.5 Clinical Guidelines and Expert Opinions

  • Authoritative recommendations on clinical practice, developed by experts in the field.
  • Word limit: 2,000–3,000 words.

1.6 Short Communications

  • Concise reports on important new clinical findings or observations.
  • Word limit: 1,000–1,500 words.

1.7 Editorials

  • Brief opinion pieces reflecting on a specific issue in clinical medicine.
  • Word limit: 800–1,000 words.

1.8 Letters to the Editor

  • Short responses to previously published articles, clinical observations, or general comments.
  • Word limit: 500–800 words.

1.9 Perspective Articles

  • In-depth analyses on current trends, future directions, or challenges in clinical medicine.
  • Word limit: 2,000–3,500 words.

2. Manuscript Submission

2.1 Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the online submission system. You will need to create an account if you do not already have one.
  • Ensure that all parts of the manuscript are clearly labeled, including title page, abstract, main text, references, tables, and figures.

2.2 File Formats

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Figures and Tables: Submit as separate files (e.g., .tiff, .jpg, .png, .xlsx). Figures should be in high resolution (300 dpi or higher for images, vector graphics preferred for charts and diagrams).
  • Supplementary Files: Any additional material (e.g., supplementary tables, raw data) should be uploaded as separate files.

3. Manuscript Preparation

3.1 General Formatting

  • Font: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font for the main text.
  • Line Spacing: Double-spacing throughout the manuscript, including the abstract, references, and figure legends.
  • Margins: Set 1-inch (2.5 cm) margins on all sides.
  • Page Numbers: Include page numbers in the header or footer.
  • Headings: Use a consistent style for headings and subheadings. Use bold for section headings and italics for subheadings.

3.2 Title Page

  • Include the following on the title page:
    • Title of the article (concise, informative, and not exceeding 15 words).
    • Author names and affiliations (list all authors with full names, academic degrees, and institutional affiliations).
    • Corresponding author: Include the name, email, and phone number of the corresponding author.
    • Funding sources: Declare any financial support for the research, including grant numbers and funding bodies.
    • Conflict of interest: Declare any conflicts of interest in a statement (if applicable).
    • Word count: Include the word count for the main text, excluding references, figure legends, and tables.

3.3 Abstract

  • Provide a structured abstract of 150-250 words.
  • The abstract should include:
    • Background: Brief context of the study.
    • Methods: A concise description of the study design, participants, and methodology.
    • Results: Key findings of the study.
    • Conclusion: Summary of the main findings and their clinical implications.
  • Keywords: Provide 3-6 relevant keywords (use standard medical terms).

3.4 Main Text

  • Introduction: State the problem, the background, and the purpose of the study. Include relevant literature and the hypothesis or objectives.
  • Materials and Methods: Provide sufficient detail for the study to be replicated. Include patient demographics, sample size, inclusion/exclusion criteria, intervention details, and statistical methods.
  • Results: Present the results in a logical order, using tables and figures where appropriate. Report both positive and negative findings.
  • Discussion: Interpret the findings, compare with previous studies, and suggest implications for clinical practice. Acknowledge limitations and propose areas for future research.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and their relevance to clinical practice.

3.5 Figures and Tables

  • Include figure legends at the end of the manuscript (on a separate page).
  • Each figure/table should be referenced in the text. Number figures and tables consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).
  • Tables should be presented in Microsoft Excel format or as editable text in Word. Avoid large blocks of text.
  • Ensure that figures are of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi for images, vector formats for diagrams).
  • If using patient data, ensure that all identifying information is removed to protect privacy.

3.6 References

  • Use the Vancouver citation style for references.
  • Cite all sources that are directly referenced in the manuscript, including journal articles, books, and conference proceedings.
  • In-text citations should be numbered sequentially and included in the reference list in the same order.
  • Ensure references are up-to-date (preferably within the last 5 years unless citing seminal works) and accurate.

    • Book:

4. Publication Charges

The Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research is an open-access journal, and we charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover publication costs:

  • Journal of Clinical Medicine charges an article processing charge (APC) of USD 1319 for all accepted articles. This fee covers the costs of peer review, copyediting, typesetting, long-term archiving, and journal management.
  • Waivers: Available for authors from low-income countries or those facing financial hardship.

Note: Payment is due after the manuscript is accepted for publication. Authors will be notified of the APC and any additional charges (e.g., for color figures) upon acceptance.


5. Review Process

The Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research follows a double-blind peer-review process. The steps are as follows:

5.1 Initial Screening

  • Manuscripts undergo an initial screening for adherence to the journal’s scope, plagiarism checks, and formatting.

5.2 Peer Review

  • If deemed appropriate, manuscripts are sent for peer review to two independent experts in the field. Authors may be required to revise the manuscript based on reviewers' feedback.

5.3 Decision

  • After peer review, the editorial team will make one of the following decisions:
    • Accept: Manuscript is accepted with or without minor revisions.
    • Revise: Manuscript requires major or minor revisions.
    • Reject: Manuscript is not suitable for publication.

5.4 Final Acceptance

  • Once revisions are complete, the manuscript is sent for final approval before publication.

6. Ethical Guidelines

The Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research adheres to strict ethical standards:

6.1 Human and Animal Rights

  • All studies involving human participants must have prior ethical approval from an appropriate institutional review board (IRB).
  • Written informed consent must be obtained from all participants, with a clear statement included in the manuscript.

6.2 Conflict of Interest

  • Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest related to their research.

6.3 Plagiarism and Data Integrity

  • The journal uses plagiarism detection software. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarism or fabricated data will be rejected.
